Hypocrites
What is Hypocrisy?
Making a conference call with journalists to condemn modern science!
Hypocrisy is the one word in English i never had a problem understanding, the examples
always came up on NTA news at nine. If you thought the 1999 election
was every other thing but free and fair, the 2003 was better than the former, the
2007 was superb! Absolute shams that would annoy the Greeks that introduced democracy.
Maurice Iwu sealed his place in history and got his name in dictionary as
a verb; Iwuism, the art of mindless rigging . Our judiciary
at the highest level obviously
came from Mars, they dont do elections there, can you then blame them that
they didn’t annul the election at presidential level? They dont know what free and
fair is! What would come to your mind when that same judiciary is described as
the last mans hope? Hypocrisy. The judiciary that sentenced Alams to 2 years imprisonement
after he sold his state, metaphorically, and held the proceeds. The
bench that set Ibori free of all charges, only for him to plead guilty in England to
laundering 250million dollars, and was found innocent in the country the money
came from. Did you hear a man was sentenced to 6 months for stealing yam! Three
years for stealing motorcycle! Hypocrisy! Perfect hypocritical concept of justice. If
Ibru plea bargained with properties she unlawfully acquired leading to mitigation
of sentence, why is a theif caught with the stolen item not getting the same treatment?
Afterall, both returned the stolen goods.
Your honourable representative in the house of asembly! While dilly-dallying
before approving 18 thousand naira minimum wage for people working five
days a week, hard labour, could speedily approve an increment in a belated running
cost for sitting twice a week! Let’s not heat up the polity by mentioning the unjustified
salary and allowances they get. Top the cake with the icing of contracts and
unnecessary committee trips all round the world, it sure pays to represent Nigerians.
A trip to Asokoro will convince you; ‘honourable’ is more than a title, its a
lifestyle. Place a picture of our representatives against that of 80percent of the represented.
To claim they represent the masses? Hypocrites!
The Jonathan administration is so people oriented that it decided to increase
the fuel price on the 1st day of a new year. Its not also hard to understand that
while the budget could accommodate almost a billion to feed the presidential family,
there has been no vacancy to start paying the hardworking federal workers. Obasanjo’s
diatribes on anti corruption has never been more than slogans. Noise.
Oh dear lecturers, for a better pay package, quit ASUU, join politics. You
will earn in a year more than you have earned in a decade; contest for ward councillor.
And even you wife would be paid for being your wife. Is rule of law not in
line with assigning money to the office of the first lady which the constitution does
not recognise? It is, to our leaders. Our president spoke on reducing foreign trips,
then travelled abroad. Same day. Hypocrite. Transforming the country with the
same old hand is pure hypocrisy. Change of result without change in method looks
too tall a dream. The irony of our democracy is, its not a democracy. Its elitocracy,
forgive the word. And also forgive corruptocrazy, deceitocrazy and exploitocrazy.
The irony doesn’t end with the government.
